COVID-19 Update from Volcano Scouting

Volcano Scouting is deeply saddened to announce that the 2020 Hornaday Adventure Camp originally scheduled for August 7-9 at the Mount St. Helens Science and Learning Center has been cancelled.

Our staff was notified on Wednesday, May 13 that the Mount St. Helens Institute has cancelled all programming for both youth and adults through September 15, 2020. In response, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Hornaday Adventure Camp and offer all participants an automatic full refund by May 31, 2020.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as our team quickly adjusts to the fluid COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the Mount St. Helens Institute, USDA Forest Service, State of Washington, and the Boy Scouts of America. Should you have any questions, as always, please feel free to contact us at We look forward to hosting you again at Mount St. Helens when it is safe to do so!
