Merit Badge Weekend Update

Volcano Scouting is dedicated to offering exciting and engaging Scouting programs at Mount St. Helens for families across the Pacific Northwest. Each year, our volunteer staff put together two overnight programs at the Mount St. Helens Science and Learning Center focusing on stewardship, education, adventure, and leadership. This year, we were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people interested in our Merit Badge Weekend and sold out all 65 spots in less than a month. We closed our registration without the intent to reopen it again or facilitate a waitlist. However, after serious consideration of our organizational and facility capabilities, we have decided to investigate the possibility of increasing our participant maximum and reopening registration at a later date. We plan to work with our logistical and financial partners in the coming weeks to evaluate the feasibility of accommodating additional participants at our upcoming events while preserving high-quality experiences for every scout in attendance.
